Authentic sailing experience
Feel the power of wind in the sails and take part in a real sea adventure – without commercial gimmicks and crowds of tourists.

Setting sail from Ilulissat, gateway to the famous Disko Bay, we leave behind one of the most breathtaking corners of Greenland. The first miles take us among towering icebergs that have calved from the Sermeq Kujallec (Jakobshavn) Glacier — enormous sculptures drifting silently in the midnight sun. As we navigate carefully through these icy giants, we begin our journey north toward Upernavik, into wilder, lesser-known waters. This voyage is as much an exploration as it is a passage. It’s the first time Tecla will sail this route, and every fjord, every small settlement, every new anchorage is an opportunity for discovery. We’ll pass dramatic cliffs where the ice sheet meets the sea, weave between small islands and blue-white ice, and—when the conditions allow—drop anchor in quiet bays surrounded by mountains that rise straight from the water.Life on board finds its rhythm quickly: taking your turn on watch, feeling the pull of the wheel, learning to read the wind and the ice. The days are long and bright, and there is time to absorb the silence of the Arctic, to watch seals and whales in the distance, and to share stories over a warm meal after a day under sail.Approaching Upernavik, the settlements become smaller and the sense of remoteness grows. Brightly painted houses cling to rocky slopes, and the harbour is often dotted with fishing boats and ice floes. It feels like the end of the world — or perhaps the beginning of a new one.Every Tecla voyage is shaped by wind, weather, and curiosity — and this one, especially, carries the true spirit of adventure. We do not know every anchorage yet, but we will find them together.Join us on this northern exploration — where ice and ocean meet, and where each mile sailed writes a new line in the Tecla logbook.
