Windeward Bound
Windeward Bound is a wooden two-masted brigantine built in Hobart, Tasmania, based on plans for an 1848 Boston topsail schooner. Constructed almost entirely from Tasmanian eucalypt, huon pine, and recycled timber over a 15-year volunteer build, she launched in 1996 and has since logged over 100,000 nautical miles, including a full circumnavigation of Australia in 2002–03 to mark the bicentenary of Matthew Flinders' original voyage.
