Mercedes is a two-masted brig built in the Netherlands, converted from a fishing vessel and relaunched as a sailing ship in 2005. Rigged with 18 sails totaling 900 m² and reaching up to 16 knots under sail, she's built to strict EU passenger-ship safety standards and backed by a powerful V16 engine for maneuvering. Below deck she trades typical tall-ship austerity for a proper restaurant, ship's bar, and lounge finished in mahogany, black leather, and polished brass - making her a popular choice for corporate events, product launches, and regatta escorts. She sails from Amsterdam and appears at major maritime festivals from Poland along the North Sea coast down through the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
