Lady Nelson is a square-rigged brig built locally in 1988, a full-size replica of the original 1799 Lady Nelson that carried the first British settlers to Hobart. Constructed at Ray Kemp's Woodbridge boatyard for Australia's Bicentenary, she stays close to the original ship's plans and rigging. Based at Hobart's Elizabeth Street Pier and run entirely by trained volunteers through the Tasmanian Sail Training Association, she offers 90-minute harbour sails on the Derwent, private charters, and occasional multi-day voyages, with passengers welcome to haul lines, steer, or just take in the views.
