Bonawentura
Bonawentura is one of the oldest wooden sailing vessels flying the Polish flag, originally built in 1948 in Gdańsk as a MIR-20A fishing cutter, later used as a tugboat. In 1992 she was rebuilt into a ketch with an unusual gaff-type rig known as "Va Marie," and between 2010 and 2013 underwent a thorough restoration that earned her Polish Register of Shipping ocean-class certification - fit for both sea and ocean voyages. Now operated by Gdańsk-based sailing office Błękitny Piotruś, she sails the Baltic each season, taking part in major maritime festivals like Baltic Sail Gdańsk, Hanse Sail Rostock, and the Tall Ships' Races, alongside voyages that have reached the Canary Islands, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and even crossed the Arctic Circle. She's available for full-ship charter as well as public sailing trips and youth/adult sail training courses.
